What Boxly is
Boxly is a free research and booking platform for Canadian moves. We aggregate verified Google reviews, hourly rates, BBB accreditation status, services, and Boxly Score signals for 2,500+ moving companies across 144+ cities — so a homeowner who needs movers in Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, or anywhere else in Canada can compare options in minutes instead of digging through dozens of websites.
We are a marketplace — not a moving company. Movers do the moves. We help you find the right one, get a transparent price, and book.
Why we built it
Hiring movers in Canada is opaque. Quotes vary by 3-5×, hidden fees pop up on moving day, and it takes hours of phone calls to get apples-to-apples comparisons. Most aggregator sites monetize by selling your contact details to as many movers as possible — you end up flooded with calls and still not knowing whether the quote you got is fair.
Boxly is different. We publish a public marketplace where every mover’s rates, ratings, and services are visible to everyone — no email gate, no phone-call gauntlet. You see what each mover charges before you contact them. If you want a quote, you pick who to ask.
How we make money
Boxly is free for homeowners. We earn revenue from movers who upgrade to a paid tier (more visibility, lead capture tools, quote infrastructure, analytics). All listings start free — movers don’t pay to be listed, and they don’t pay per lead.
We don’t sell your contact information. When you request a quote, only the mover you chose receives it.
How our data is sourced
Trust on a marketplace lives or dies on the data behind every listing. Here’s exactly where ours comes from:
- Reviews: Verified Google reviews pulled directly from each mover’s Google Business Profile. We do not solicit, edit, or filter reviews.
- Pricing: Hourly rates by crew size are self-reported by movers when they claim their listing, or gathered from public quote-request data over time. We label price estimates clearly so you know whether they’re mover-confirmed or estimated.
- Services & coverage areas: Pulled from each mover’s public website and Google Business Profile, then refined by mover edits when they claim their listing.
- BBB accreditation: Pulled from public Better Business Bureau records.
- Boxly Score: A composite score combining Google rating, review velocity, response time, BBB status, and claimed-listing completeness. Methodology is transparent — see our disclaimer for full caveats.

Viktor started Boxly after watching too many friends and family in Calgary get burned by surprise moving bills. The goal: a marketplace where the rates are public, the data is honest, and the path from research to booking is short.
Boxly is bootstrapped — there is no outside investor pushing for growth at any cost. Every product decision is made with the long-term health of the marketplace in mind.
